Sembawang Country Club Driving Range

Nicely tucked away in one corner of Singapore, is a ‘boutique-like’ range, often patronized by the New Zealand and British forces stationed in Sembawang, way back in the 1960s. Today, come weekends, nearby residents, besides playing a few rounds of golf, flock to the range to also enjoy a clean break from the hustle and bustle of city life to be in close proximity to nature and its environment.

With 27 tee-off bays on the first level and 25 on the ground level, the range is considered small by Singapore’s standards. But what may be pressing for the range, however, is the need for a re-fitting and a replacement of some of its already worn out tee-off mats and its golf balls, so as to give the range a new lease of look and life. The cost of renting the golf balls varies from time to time (Non-Peak Hours @0.04 cts each and Peak hours @0.045cts each for members and Non-Peak Hours @0.05 cts each and Peak Hours at 0.06cts each for non-members)) and your status as a member of the club. For the early rises, the range opens from 7 am to 11pm (Non-Peak is from 7am to 4pm, while Peak periods is from 4.01pm to 11pm).

That said, however, when hunger pang strikes in between strokes, food is literally only footsteps away. Down a short flight of steps is a cafeteria which serves a fairly decent spread of finger food and other hot meals at very reasonable prices. While there, do have a go at some of its signature dishes, which the cafeteria has been known to be well known for for many years ( do ask the very friendly staff for their suggestions ).
