Marina Bay Driving Range Hot

User rating

4.0 (6)

Having reviewed more than a dozen of driving ranges, I must say that the Marina Bay driving range, for many factors, is one of the most jaw-dropping ranges around town. It is no wonder that this spanking, new range often enjoys near full patronage, even during periods of current economic slow down, where most driving ranges around the island may suffer from spurts of intermittent inactivity and over-capacity.

The driving range boast of four levels; 30 tee-off positions on the top most level, 40 tee-off bays on the third level and second level and 36 tee-off bays on the first level respectively. Besides faultless tee-off mats, the balls, at a most reasonable price of 167 for $10 dollars, which are also very important to the most discerning golfer, look and feel new. While it may not mean much to a golfer of my caliber, every minute detail like golf balls with well-defined dimples, is important, as it does affect the trajectory of the ball when in flight. For those who have the extra cash to jump-start their golfing career, there is always the Star Academy, which is both well established and reputed in the golfing scene.

With Tanjong Rhu and the vicinity being earmarked for future development, you do not need to be a rocket scientist to realize that the range is sited on a potential gold mine, which will make any developer drool for a slice of the land. Which other driving range on the island offer a view of Singapore’s gorgeous sky-line with the Singapore Flyer clearly notable in the background? While stating the obvious, the view from the well-stocked Bistro, especially the night view, is magnificent and eye popping. It is a view, beyond any word in the English dictionary, or for that matter, any linguistic form, can ever capture in its entirety. No matter – I am pretty sure, that the cacophony of colours, viewed from the Bistro, is surely an attraction on its own to keep the staff busy through the night and the cash registers ringing.

As with other reviews, the facilities and everything at MBGC are really great. I have been taking lessons and practicing there for a few weeks now and I have no reason to complain...apart from.............what is it about leaving a golf club in a bay to "choppe"/ block it and then wandering off for drinks or coffee??? This practice should be stopped by the Driving Range...it's a driving range not a Food Court! Etiquette anyone? First come, first served! Bays are difficult enough to get without blocking them off, and golfers should have more common sense and a better sense of respect for others...we should all make an effort to stop this practice.

Apart from that minor rant, i really enjoy the whole golf expereince here and everyone is very friendly and helpful.

Just a stone-throw away from the bustling city at the heart of Singapore, Marina Bay is the place for you to escape to after a long day's work. Apart from golf, you can chill out at The Canopy with your friends over dinner & catch a few rounds of drinks while you pamper yourself with the view of the city skyline of Singapore.

MBGC brings you closer to nature with the lush green surroundings. One of the best place in town to consider for a range session with your friends coupled by the shimmering stars when you set yourself at the roof bay.

This is one of the biggest and newest ranges in Singapore. I personally like the top floor during the night. The only issue is that it is always so difficult to get a bay !!!

New range, new balls, new mats, and very value for money. Parking is abundant too and the cafe certainly increased the overall ambience of the place. Nothing like a nice cold drink after a range session.
